When Freddie was a baby, I used to say, "Freddie watches Jones like a movie." Now, it's more accurate to say that JONES watches Jones like a movie. I've made it easier on him by putting our two giant mirrors on the floor for him, so that he doesn't have to stand on his mattress - or hunch over in front of the reflective surface of our dishwasher - to get a glimpse of his antics. When people have asked, I've said (and meant it) that I didn't ASPIRE to have a child grow up to be in the theatre unless it was a passion he developed for himself (and not one that I thrust on him); the way Jones is going ...
Also, here are a few more selfies of me and both boys - mostly taken during our daily rounds of "Dogpile Mama."
Also, we went to the Farmer Store today. The boys are COMPLETELY enamored of this place. Freddie was wearing Jones's cowboy boots when we were there, and when he got home for his nap, he asked to sleep in them. I said, "sure" and then spent the next two hours convinced he'd get Bird Flu from sleeping in shoes that'd been walking on the hay. I wasn't, however, concerned enough to wake him up by pulling off his shoes, mid-sleep.
Also, one of these days I'm going to write a post about the adorable relationship Jones and Freddie have with our neighbor's dog, Blue. Until then, here's an anecdote I don't want to forget. Freddie is still sleeping, but Jones and I are sitting in the playroom and office, respectively. Jones just heard a dog barking and said, "I hear Blue barking" (it wasn't Blue; it came from a whole different end of the County, but still. I didn't correct him). "You do?" I asked, adding, "What do you think is the matter?" "He misses his us. He wants us to come play with him." Soon, we're gonna HAVE to get these little guys a doggie. Until then, Blue is the next best thing ... and Blue is a very, VERY good thing.
