While yesterday's post seemed to be the (Bobby) Jones Show, today was full of Freddie's Funnies, so here you have them:I was in the back of the house, putting laundry away. The boys were in the den, watching 'toons. I walked in to the kitchen and saw Freddie, standing on Jones's upside down Easter bucket, trying to reach what he calls the "RUH-mote" (where he got that, I do not know; video is at the end of the post). I'm guessing he was ready to watch something else, and with me not in there, he took matters into his own hands ... as he has a habit of doing. I LOVE this about him. He is so inventive and determined.
At dinner, he didn't want his hot dog. He did, however, want applesauce. Jeremy said, "Eat your dinner, and then you can have applesauce," so then we watched as Freddie took each piece of processed meat off of his own plate and placed it on his brother's (he did NOT get the applesauce, by the way).
This was on the heels of something similar yesterday. He wanted a snack, so Jeremy gave him a bowl full of Teddy Grahams. Then, Jones got applesauce, and Freddie decided he'd rather have that. Like he did tonite, Jeremy said, "Eat your cookies, and then you can have applesauce." I then watched as Freddie dumped the contents of his cookie bowl onto the den floor and ran the empty bowl to his daddy, exclaiming, "I did it!"(he did NOT get the applesauce, by the way). Finally, toward the end of the day, Freddie said he needed to "teenkyweenty," and he indicated that he wanted to go on the potty, so I figured, "Why not?" and followed him back to the bathroom.
He sat there, oh, so very proud of himself. "I DID it," he said. He hadn't, but he kept sitting there, and every now and then, he'd turn to me and say, "I pee peed again!"
It won't be long, Folks, until he actual does. Three and a half years of diapers, and it honestly feels like the blink of an eye.
("I wanna get the RUH-mote. I wanna GET it ... on the wall. RUH-mote TALL!")
