Wet & Wild

This may have been the busiest day my boys have ever had.

Mid-morning, we picked up Lila and Lizzie Gray and went to the park. After that, we came back to Mom's where they played in the sprinkler for the first time. This primarily involved standing gleefully at the sprinkler and trying to catch the water as it sprayed them. I figured they'd be ready for lunch and a nap after 30 minutes of chasing the "rain." But Jones had other plans for what he calls "Mayme's beach." He left the lawn where they'd been playing in the water and walked over to the pool area. Pulling out his pirate "sheep," he carried the boat over to the pool, which was my cue that he wanted to swim. He and I dove in for a few minutes before lunch;, finally, the boys took a nap, after which, they got BACK in the water.
Today, Jones stayed in for almost two hours. He LOVES it. He floated around in the sheep, but he also played with the water guns and went under the waterfall and, of course, looked up every time he heard a plane fly over.

Freddie was still not thrilled about the water. He wanted to sit on the steps and splash, but that's about as far in as he cared to get, so he went in with Mom, while Jones stayed out to play. After Freddie had been in for about an hour, Jones asked, "Where DAT baby?" It was so sweet that he was missing his baby brother.

After dinner, the boys and I holed up in the Media Room to watch the new "Thomas" movie. It was either so riveting - or they were so tired - that even Freddie "cuckled" on my lap for a few minutes. This is VERY typical for Jonesie, but not at all for Freckle, so I'll take that as a sign of a great day.
