Happy Labor Day!

When you live in a town that's known for its Labor Day Parade, you leave the lake a day early, so you can be there. And boy, am I glad that we did.

The boys had a BALL.

We went early to set up seats for our family and the family of our new friends, the Loosiers, who were going to meet us there. When we went back before the parade started, Freddie and Jones ran around in the street in front of our seats. Thankfully (surprisingly?), they settled down when the party got started.

They were so excited and so well behaved and ate SO.MUCH.CANDY (including their first - itty bitty - piece of bubble gum). Freddie especially snatched it up where it'd land in the streets.  So many folks recognized Jeremy as they walked the parade route that his boys definitely reaped the benefits of their daddy's popularity.

After the parade, we went home, where we had lunch with the Loosiers (whose two boys are TWELVE months apart, which, of course, was a point of INSTANT bonding), and tonight when I put Jones to bed and asked what he was thankful for, he said that he was thankful that he got to go to the parade.

So I'd say that was a successful outing!

Oh, and to make today even better, Mom, Daddy, Uncle "Beall" and Aunt "Belba" came by in the afternoon!
