Freddie's Artist Statement

For most of his life, Jones's artwork has been typified by being hastily done and monochromatic. In other words, he seems very uninterested in creating visual art. He just rushes through it to move on to the next thing.

By contrast, Freddie's art is usually meticulously done. Mrs. Shana at Clyde First Baptist taught him to not "scribble scrabble" when coloring, and it's a lesson he took very deeply to heart. He also uses colors a'plenty to create some of my favorite pictures on the planet.

Tonite, Jones completed his first semester of Catechism class at Arden Pres. I have been so proud of how well he has done - and really impressed with his propensity to memorize. Being in Catechism has not only benefited him - but also the rest of the family, as we ALL get to review these truths with him.

Catechisms, Kinda

Almost every nite when the boys go to bed, we go over their first two catechisms (mostly because I haven't taken the time to teach them past the first two). They're the same ones I learned in elementary school, and they go like this:

"Who made you?"
"God made me."
"What else did God make?"
"God made ALLLLL things."

Typically, the boys do fine with these, but tonite when I asked Freddie, it didn't go exactly according to the script:

ME: "Who made you?"
F: "Gahhhhhhhh-d."
ME: "What else did God make?"
F: "Jones."

Well, he IS right, if not correct.
